ABA Special Maps — Awakening Arenas
ABA special maps: Unlimited Blade Works, Ionioi Hetairoi, Diatrekhōn Astēr Lonkhē, Town of Beginnings, Heaven, and character triggers.
What Are Special Maps?
Special maps in Anime Battle Arena cannot be voted on or accessed through normal Arena/Ranked selection. They load when specific characters activate awakening (G key) or when developers teleport players during maintenance. These stages temporarily replace the current standard map until the awakening ends or the round concludes. They count toward the 42-map total documented on the official wiki alongside franchise stages.
Unlike Arena voting or ranked random selection, special maps are character-driven — owning Shirou Emiya, Rider (Iskandar), Achilles, or Enrico Pucci unlocks the ability to trigger their respective arenas mid-fight. Admin-only Heaven exists for developer matchmaking tests.
Character-Triggered Special Maps
Unlimited Blade Works — Shirou Emiya's awakening recites the Reality Marble chant and swaps the stage to a sword-filled wasteland. M1 speed increases; Kansho and Bakuya become default weapons. Overrides Iskandar's marble if both activate — see awakening interactions for similar mechanics. Map size ~1.25× Budokai Tenkaichi.
Ionioi Hetairoi — Rider (Iskandar)'s Reality Marble creates a flat desert battlefield 3–4× larger than Unlimited Blade Works. Iskandar gains massive advantage — no terrain to block his charges. If Shirou awakens during Iskandar's marble, Shirou's map takes priority and depletes Iskandar's mode.
Diatrekhōn Astēr Lonkhē — Achilles (prestige) awakening creates a Duel Field that disables all skills except M1s for every player inside. M1-only duel until someone dies — one of the most dramatic prestige mechanics in ABA.
Town of Beginnings (GPO) — Enrico Pucci's Made in Heaven awakening has a 5% chance to load this Grand Piece Online island recreation with shifting day/night sky. Houses and terrain shifts provide hiding spots during time acceleration.
Admin and Training Maps
Heaven — Cloud platform accessible only to developers Melon_Sensei and SnakeWorl for ranked matchmaking tests. Players teleported here during maintenance return to normal lobbies after rounds end. Not playable through legitimate means.
Training Mode Map — White room with test dummies accessed from main menu or Zoro NPC in Arena. Not part of vote/random pools but listed in map category for practice. Use alongside combo training before ranked.
Lab standard maps on ranked stages separately — special maps trigger inconsistently and cannot be relied on for climb. Build core kits on your main character first.
